Lessons from the Gallaudet Protests: My point, (and I do have one)

Ok, I’ve felt your collective yawn at this series.  To borrow from the title of Ellen deGeneres’s book, my point (and I do have one) for this series will be outlined here today.

    Dr. DonG,

Brown and Board of Education finally got started after many awareness, rally, protest.

I agree the Laws should be made and will be made but AGBell got the upper-hand in control of all lobbyists at Washington DC.

It has been 128 years since 1880 Milan and the Deaf community is starting to speak up to the point that you already started on your Vlog about awareness to have laws.

Many hearing parents are coming to Milwaukee for the DBC Education Conference and have over 400 registered and more are not registered will come because the conference is free.

I hope that you will come to Milwaukee and feel empowered to support Deaf babies to have cognitive development skills from 0 to 3 years of age.

    John,

You’re probably right. So we need to concentrate on both the social (popular opinion through rallies, etc.) realm and the legislative realms.

Don G, I really am glad to see someone like you speaking out about all “huffs and puffs” and no concrete actions.

Few months ago, I was going to write the blog posting to urge the DBC doing more meaty stuff like rallying for the real stuff, ex. proposed legislation.

I was persuaded by someone within the DR blogsphere not to make any waves regarding the DBC.

I had all proofs of email correspondences which I had such thoughts ahead of the time.

I am going to write several blog postings about DBC, NAD and AGBAD and the Deaf America within this month.

I am really looking forward to see your upcoming vlog/blog postings.

    Robert L. Mason (RLM)
